I own three late model vehicles & with tremendous effrot was only able to install in one vehicle. The installation in that vehicle proved to be incapable of withstanding the slightest bump without falling from its location. I would not recommend this product to anyone.
Easily installed, looks good and quite strong. Range of sizes that it can handle could be better.
I am not happy with what this cost, how cheap it is, how little it holds, or how it might affect the vent it is put on. Very sad. I can't even sell it. Don't buy one, you'll be disappointed like we were.
I have every confidence that this product would perform well, as it is sturdy and well made. Nice that it can go from an all-purpose holder to a round-specific holder with the flick of a plastic piece.The problem is it will not clip to my air vent. It is designed for air vents with directional slots under a certain depth, and my car's vents are slightly too deep, so the clips will not reach in far enough to hold.So be warned that this is not universal. I drive a 1992 VW Passat, so if you drive an early 90's VW or Audi, you might want to avoid this one.
The only downside with the position is the drink holder is higher and more awkward.The item is easy to install and remove, and is easily readjusted to a different location. I purchased this item to replace the built-in drink holders in my Mitsubishi Gallant, which are not in the ideal place if one needs to use the cigarette lighter, especially using it to charge portable devices. It provides a drink holder of comparable base size to the existing one, and because of the position, it actually allows for larger drinks. Other then that, it is sturdy and looks nice. I recommend this item without reservation.
